Community Development Hosts Grant Workshop
Amarillo, Texas – The City of Amarillo’s Community Development department will host a grant application workshop beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 in room 275 of the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan St. The workshop is for those agencies, community organizations, and parties who are considering applying for grant funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) or HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs – both of which are funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are administered by the Community Development department.
Organizations may request funding for projects which will benefit low-to-moderate income persons and neighborhoods. The proposed Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development is available online at amarillo.gov or in the Community Development office, 808 S. Buchanan St..
Additionally, the grant handbook and applications will become available at the workshop with copies obtainable at the Community Development department and online at amarillo.gov. During the workshop, staff will be on-hand to discuss the funding priorities to address the anticipated needs identified in the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development.
The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, March 30 at 4 p.m.
