The Amarillo Continuum of Care is eligible to apply for $143,324 in FY2016 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). The City of Amarillo will submit a collaborative application to TDHCA to include up to 5 partner agencies. The ESG Program is a competitive grant awarded to communities through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which may be used on activities that benefit persons who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
Eligible ESG activities include:
- Street Outreach
- Emergency Shelter Operations
- Emergency Shelter Essential Services
- Homeless Prevention
- Homeless Rapid Re-Housing
To apply to receive FY2016 ESG funding the following application and supporting documents must be submitted to the Community Development Department, Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan Street, no later than 5:00PM, Friday, March 25, 2016.
